AT THE HEART OF EVERY STORY

It is our firm belief that at the heart of every story are characters. Without character, you have no action. Without action, you have no conflict. Without conflict, you have no story.

IT’S THE HONEST
IMPERFECTION
THAT GETS YOU
EVERY TIME

Established in 2011, Lo-Fi Flicks (Logika Fantasi) is a production company with a commitment to making movies that can restore people’s faith in local films. Lo-Fi Flicks was founded by Joko Anwar, Tia Hasibuan, and Uwie Balfas, who have worked together on various projects. A Copy of My Mind (2015) is the first feature film by Lo-Fi Flicks, co-produced with South Korea’s CJ Entertainment. The movie was produced with minimum budget. Though, the worldwide acknowledgments it got have proven A Copy of My Mind to be one movie that reflects the spirit of Lo-Fi Flicks’ vision. What the movie lacks in the budget is more than made up for by the characters, the excellent script, and the detailed attention to the surroundings.

JOKO ANWAR

Joko Anwar grew up with films. Watching films was his education in film-making. Films also taught him how to see the world. The love and appreciation he has for films have shaped him into someone who loves and appreciates the world around him just as much. Ever since his directorial debut with Janji Joni in 2005, his empathy toward humanity and social issues is reflected in all his films. Joko’s movies are diverse in genres but all the ideas and the characters are based on what he has encountered in real life.

When deciding which movie she is going to produce, Tia has faith in two things: a good script and a good chemistry with the director. With her intuitive producer’s mindset and her perseverance, she has produced numerous films that were internationally acclaimed ever since. One of her biggest dreams, though, is to make a romantic comedy.

THE FILMS

“Events don’t make a journey; characters do. Events are interesting to watch because they have a meaning. What matters is the meaning of the events to the characters in the story and to us, the audience. By understanding the characters and what happens to them, we come to understand ourselves.”
–Joko Anwar
